Compatibility tests
Each page isolates a small group of features, so failures are easier to identify.

| CSS rendering | Colors, borders, spacing, floats, fonts, and modern optional decoration. |
| JavaScript and DOM | Date, random numbers, timers, DOM updates, and cookies. |
| Image formats | GIF animation, JPEG, PNG, scaling, and alternative text. |
| Forms | Text fields, checkboxes, radio buttons, select menus, textarea, and GET submission. |
| Text encoding | UTF-8, Japanese text, accented Latin characters, and common entities. |
Basic success condition: readable navigation, visible text, working links, and recognizable images. Newer decoration is optional.
